Chief of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care

Dr. Kaplan is the Associate Chairman of the Department of Surgery and the Chairman of the Division of Trauma/SICU.  Dr. Kaplan is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and is Associate Professor of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College.

Dr. Kaplan has been an active member of the medical staff since 1987 during which time he has served as a primary teaching attending to the residents and medical students for which he has received several teaching awards over the years, as well as being selected as a 2011 and 2012 "Top Doc" by Philadelphia magazine.
