Animesh Agarwal, MD
Dr. Agarwal graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from John Hopkins in 1988. He then went on to pursue a Medical degree from the UT Health Science Center of San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 1992. Then in 2000, he also received a certificate of distinction in business foundation from UTSA Center for Professional Excellence. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery and a clinical fellowship in orthopaedic trauma.
He is currently a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery with Tenure and Chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma at UTHSCSA. He is also an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UTSA, Department of Biomedical Engineering. In addition, Dr. Agarwal is the director of orthopaedic trauma at University hospital, a medical staff at the Baptist Health Care System, and a consultant at the Audie Murphy VA hospital in San Antonio. Dr. Agarwal has done numerous clinical research studies including, “The utilization of the wound VAC in soft tissue injuries associated with orthopaedic trauma”, published a multitude of journal articles, book chapters, peer reviewed abstracts and software development projects. As a speaker, he has lectured in Mexico and throughout the United States.
