After obtaining a bachelor's degree from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, Dr. Crist earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Wichita, and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the University of California-Davis.

Dr. Crist is the Director of Orthopedic Surgery, University of Missouri School of Medicine. He specializes in orthopedic trauma/fracture care, hip and pelvis reconstruction including total hip arthroplasty, and young adult hip disorders/hip preservation. Areas of Interests include: Anterior Total Hip Arthroplasty, Fractures, Hip and Pelvic Reconstruction Surgery, Hip Arthroscopy, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Trauma Surgery, Pelvic Surgery, Skeletal Trauma, Trauma Surgery.
