Daphne Weiland, MD
Daphne is a certified wound, ostomy and continence nurse with 14 years of nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings from a community hospital to working in industry to a large teaching institution. Daphne holds the position of program chair 2016 for the Ostomy Association of Ventura County affiliate of the United Ostomy Association of America. She is also a member of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses’ Society, as well as the Pacific Coast Region of the WOCN Society 2016 Secretary and Education Chair.
She studied nursing at McMaster University, Hamilton Ontario Canada where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree. Her nursing career began in Emergency Medicine, however her passion for wound and ostomy care motivated her successful graduation from Cleveland Clinic Foundation certified Enterostomal Therapy in 2004. She advanced her wound care career at Community Memorial Hospital where she developed a successful inpatient wound care program, with a strong emphasis on Pressure Ulcer Prevention, actively participates on the Education Committee, Patient Safety Committee, Nursing Leadership Council, Clinical Quality and Value Analysis Committee and is the chair of the Skin Care Committee.
